What landed in my mailbox
“Brown ground beef with onion, drain the drama. Stir in chili powder, cumin, can of drained corn, can of diced green chiles. Spread in skillet; top with cornbread batter — box mix is democracy. Bake till the lid looks sunburned in a flattering way.”
I used sharp cheddar in the batter; Terrance approved via sticky note on my porch. The pie fed six shy humans and one overly honest dog.
Carl’s verdict: Four and a half stars. Hearty, forgiving, and impossible to eat politely — which is exactly how welcome should feel.
