Chamber Hires First Official Greeter; Roadrunner Passes Typing Test

TUMBLEWEED TERRACE— Rita Roadrunner, already famous for the Mesquite Festival crown, now clocks in at the depot Thursdays with a brass name badge and free maps drawn in crayon and ink.

Chamber President Badger cited Rita's gift for remembering first names and last year's casserole crises. Visitors receive a handshake, hummingbird facts, and honest directions to the cleanest gas-station restroom for fifty miles.

Fireworks followed protocol; nobody lost a shoe. Small-town America, turbo edition—still waving.
