Pie Auction Clears Goal for Marching Band Caps
PINYON SPRINGS— The Ladies Benevolent and their auxiliary raised $2,340 in forty-seven minutes of dessert theater, every pie introduced like royalty descending a staircase.
Auctioneer Gila Monster kept a feather duster for dramatic effect. Winning bidders included the bank, two bean farmers, and a goat who technically purchased the mincemeat on behalf of 4-H and later shared.
